In an interview on the Today Show, Palin once again accused (David) Letterman of making an “unfortunate” joke about “statutory rape” regarding her 14-year-old daughter Willow (when Letterman joked about Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez knocking up Palin’s daughter). When NBC’s Matt Lauer responded that Letterman said he was joking about 18-year-old Bristol, Palin replied that it was “a weak excuse.”
I could be wrong about how Letterman will handle this, but if the past is any indication, I have no idea why Sarah Palin wants to keep this thing going (actually, yeah, I do– modern Republican strategy is to play the victim as much as possible). Letterman has proven that he’s more than willing not to let perceived slights go, and he’ll keep hammering and hammering and hammering until everyone’s tired of it, and then he’ll hammer some more. (See John McCain last fall.)
One of these people has a completely secure job and a big, fat contract, the other one has to, you know, get elected to things.
One of these people has an entire hour, five nights a week, to say whatever the hell he wants to say, no matter how petty, the other one… doesn’t.
Then again, the Palins don’t seem to mind their lives looking like a trashy daytime talk show, so maybe they’re loving it.
Update: Whaddya know? Dave took the high road and made two sincere apologies. Palin supporters responded in their typically classy fashion.

Why did TPTB refuse to list you on the Sarah Palin blog listing site? Made you waste a perfectly good tag.
So, what’s up with that douche running for Sec of State?
