Agenda Movie Club: Horrible Bosses

Horrible Bosses

Seth Gordon

2011

Motherfucker’s gonna be so proud of us!

Like most comedies, I don’t have a ton to say about this, but I was really worried that it was going to be terrible (even though I really didn’t want it to be), and I was very happy to find out it wasn’t. I laughed a lot.

Kevin Spacey is more fun than he has been in years. He can be so deliciously evil, and he was at the top of his game here. I wish we could have seen more of Colin Farrell, he was completely ridiculous. I didn’t actually care much about Jennifer Aniston’s character… that storyline was the least interesting to me.

Of course, it’s gross, and profane, blah blah blah. Jamie Foxx’s character is named “Motherfucker Jones.” Cheap laugh? Yeah. But admit it, you laughed at that. And that’s kind of how I felt like this movie went. Nothing really new, probably a lot of cheap laughs, but they were still definitely laughs.

I thought this was pretty funny. Bateman, Day and Sudeikis had really great chemistry and Aniston, Spacey, and Farrell were all pretty evil and villainous as the bosses.. I did wish it would have gotten a bit darker at times but overall, pretty good I thought. Good Review! Check out my site when you can!
